The History of Diamonds

Since the 15th Century, diamonds have been a symbol of eternal love. Archduke Maximilian of Austria sealed his engagement to Mary of Burgundy with a diamond ring and this practise became a time-honored tradition.

Diamonds are considered the most precious and valuable of all stones. For centuries, a diamond's brilliance, rarity, fire, hardness and durability have been the characteristics that make this stone so unique, and why so many people use diamond jewellery to celebrate special occasions.

Moreover, the diamond is also a unique stone for its ability to reflect light and no two diamonds are the same, making each purchase even more special. Diamonds are well known for their durability and can only be cut by another diamond, however despite this characteristic, diamonds should be treated with care and inspected by a trusted jeweller every year to ensure the stone is securely placed in its setting.
